Independent music is the backbone of the music industry. theLocalScene was created by an indie musician who wanted to give indie musicians the best opportunities to be seen and heard. That is why listing your band in the database, listing your shows in the gig calendar, and posting a musicians classified ad is now and always will remain free. To keep this site and the databases contained on it relevant to what people are looking for, "commercial" advertisements are generally not allowed in the databases, unless it is a site that is related to art or music. What you will never find is millions of "SPAM" ads for get rich quick schemes and the like.

theLocalScene also offers Free On-line Band Fliers to any independent band that wants one, which is a free web page. The only thing is that theLocalScene cannot provide disk space for your pix, because server space gets expensive when your hosting a free site. theLocalScene will also exchange banner links with any music or art related site.

theLocalScene also offers quality, low-cost design and hosting options, as well as extremely reasonable advertising rates. These aren't free, unfortunately, because servers cost money, and theLocalScene needs to pay the bills somehow. But, theLocalScene's prices are cheaper than anywhere else on the net.
